Spain Necklace – Wear Your Crest With Passion

A Spain necklace is more than jewellery – it's a declaration of where you come from. The coat of arms with the Pillars of Hercules, the colours red and gold, the royal shield: with a necklace from d'origine, you carry your Spanish roots right where the world can see them. Our Spain Collection currently features the Spain crest necklace for women and the Spain phone case – additional products including men's necklaces, bracelets and keychains are already in the works. Whether you grew up in Madrid, Barcelona, Buenos Aires or Berlin: d'origine connects you to your heritage. At d'origine, people from more than 40 countries show where they come from.

What Does the Spanish Coat of Arms Mean?

The Spanish national emblem is one of the most complex and history-rich in Europe. It unites the coats of arms of the historic kingdoms from which Spain was formed: Castile (golden castle on red), León (red lion on white), Aragon (red and gold stripes), Navarre (golden chains on red) and Granada (pomegranate at the bottom). At the centre sits the Bourbon fleur-de-lis, representing the ruling dynasty. The two pillars on either side are the Pillars of Hercules – they represent the Strait of Gibraltar and the motto "Plus Ultra" (Further Beyond), symbolising the discovery of the New World. The red and gold colours of the Spanish flag trace back to the coat of arms of Aragon and were adopted in 1785 by King Charles III as the naval ensign. Spain was the most powerful empire in the world during the 16th and 17th centuries: the Spanish colonial empire stretched from the Philippines across South America to Flanders. When you wear a Spain necklace, you carry symbols that encompass centuries of world history.

Spanish Jewellery: Toledo, Gold and Mediterranean Tradition

Spain has a jewellery tradition shaped by Roman, Moorish and Christian influences. The most famous craft is the Damasquinado technique from Toledo: ultra-thin gold and silver threads are inlaid into blackened steel – an art that Moorish goldsmiths brought to Spain in the 8th century and that is still practised in Toledo today. The city was for centuries the centre of sword and jewellery smithing on the Iberian Peninsula. Filigree work from Santiago de Compostela and Córdoba also has a long heritage. In Andalusia, Flamenco culture influenced jewellery style: large earrings, combs (Peinetas) and flower ornaments are part of Flamenco dress and recognised worldwide as Spanish symbols. At Spanish weddings and celebrations, gold plays an important role: gold jewellery is given as a gift at baptisms, First Communion and weddings. In the diaspora, jewellery with Spanish motifs serves a special purpose: the coat of arms around the neck makes belonging visible.

Material and Quality of Our Spain Crest Necklace

The Spain crest necklace for women is crafted from 18K gold-plated brass for a particularly warm, rich gold tone. The pendant features the Spanish coat of arms in detailed relief (1.9 cm). The chain is 40 cm long with a 5 cm extension for a perfect, adjustable fit. The necklace is 100 percent waterproof and allergy-friendly: wear it in the shower, at the gym or every day. All products come with a 365-day guarantee. Each necklace is delivered in a premium jewellery box – a perfect gift for Día de la Hispanidad on 12 October, weddings or any special occasion. We also offer the Spain phone case with the map design for all popular smartphone models.

Buying a Spain Necklace – What to Look For

If you're looking to buy a Spain necklace, pay attention to material, craftsmanship and chain length. Our crest necklace is made from brass with 18K gold plating – providing a warm gold tone that is waterproof and allergy-friendly. For craftsmanship, check the pendant: Castile, León, the Pillars of Hercules and the "Plus Ultra" motto should be cleanly worked and the relief clearly defined. The chain length of 40 cm + 5 cm extension fits most women comfortably. At d'origine, you order directly from our shop – no middlemen. We ship worldwide: free shipping within Germany, free across Europe on orders over €25, and affordable international shipping to the US, Canada, UK, Australia and beyond.

How Many Spaniards Live Abroad and How Far Does Spanish Culture Reach?

Spain's cultural influence extends far beyond its borders. Around 500 million people worldwide speak Spanish as their first language – the second most spoken native language in the world after Mandarin. In the United States alone, over 60 million Hispanics live, many with deep Spanish roots. Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile were profoundly shaped by the Spanish colonial era – language, architecture, religion and traditions connect the entire Hispanic cultural sphere. In Europe, the Spanish diaspora includes around 200,000 Spanish nationals in Germany (many arriving through the 1960 recruitment agreement or as young professionals during the Eurozone crisis from 2012), approximately 250,000 in France, and significant communities in Switzerland and the United Kingdom. A Spain necklace is, for many, a daily sign of that connection – quiet, but unmistakable. At d'origine, we understand this feeling, because that's exactly why we founded the brand: jewellery that makes heritage visible.
